Casual Health Care Aide Hospice
Covenant Care
Support residents through compassionate hospice care as a casual Health Care Aide with Covenant Care, using personal care and communication skills.
The Health Care Aide supports residents, families, and visitors in a home-like environment. This role assists with personal care, social support, recreation, and leisure activities. Clear communication, active listening, confidentiality, and teamwork guide care aligned with Covenant Care protocols, legislation, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide resident care respecting choice, dignity, privacy, and individuality
Assist residents with personal care and social support
Support recreation and leisure participation
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and promote cooperation
Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12 and recognized Health Care Aide Certificate
Proof of Alberta Health Care Aide Directory enrollment
Two years’ HCA experience in a healthcare facility
Hospice palliative care and end-of-life experience
Fluent English; French, dementia education, and computer skills assets
Bring compassionate personal care, clear communication, and collaborative support to Covenant Care residents during end-of-life journeys.
