Yard Operations Supervisor

Lead yard operations through safety, workforce supervision, and processing performance while supporting customer needs and efficient material handling.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will direct hourly yard staff, train team members, and monitor operators, maintenance personnel, and labourers. You will support safe shredder and mobile equipment operation while helping achieve daily processing goals. The position also oversees scheduling, task assignments, performance management, product quality, freight utilization, and company policy compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct yard staff training, scheduling, assignments, and performance management
Supervise operators, maintenance personnel, torch cutters, and inspectors
Ensure safe, efficient shredder and mobile equipment operation
Load trucks and railcars to maximize freight utilization
Create production metrics supporting operational efficiency and processing goals
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
One to three years of leadership experience
Valid driver’s license
Strong planning, organization, and English communication skills
Willingness to work varied shifts, weekends, and required protective equipment
Bring yard leadership, equipment awareness, and safety-focused supervision to daily operations, workforce coordination, and processing performance.
