Early Childhood Educator Pre-primary Program
CSAP
Support young children at New Minas Elementary School as an Early Childhood Educator using play-based, child-centered practices. This position provides five hours daily during the 2026-2027 school year.
Reporting to the School Principal, the Early Childhood Educator works with the Lead Early Childhood Educator within the Pre-primary Program Team. The position supports an engaging, secure environment and holistic child development. It also supports program implementation through the Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Early Childhood Educator within the Pre-primary Program
Help create engaging learning environments for young children
Encourage exploration, creation, and social interaction
Apply evidence-based practices and professional judgment
Support consistent delivery and assessment of early learning
Requirements:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Minimum three years recent preschool experience
Knowledge of child growth and development
Experience with observation, documentation, and authentic assessment
Valid First Aid, Food Handlers, and required checks
Bring child-centered practice, assessment experience, and collaborative support to New Minas Elementary School’s Pre-primary Program.
