Inclusive Childcare Program Leader
YMCA of Greater Vancouver
Lead inclusive indoor and outdoor activities for children ages 5-12 as a permanent part-time Activity Leader with YMCA BC. Support learning, wellness, and belonging.
This position serves children in a before and after school program, including those with diverse needs. You will design and deliver developmentally appropriate activities, support individualized care plans, and encourage positive behaviour. Active supervision, relationship-building, and safe program spaces remain central to daily work.
Key Responsibilities:
Design activities engaging children of all abilities and backgrounds
Promote learning, wellness, inclusion, and positive self-esteem
Apply behaviour support strategies from individual plans
Guide conflict resolution and child-centred programming
Prepare nutritious snacks and maintain organized program spaces
Requirements:
Experience supporting children ages 5-12 in relevant settings
Confidence planning inclusive indoor and outdoor activities
Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practices
20 hours of required child-related training
Current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Use activity leadership, child development knowledge, and inclusive support to help YMCA BC children participate and thrive.
