Telephone Triage Registered Nurse

Use telephone triage and clinical judgment to guide patients toward timely care from your home. Support Fonemed callers across Canadian operations.
This Registered Nurse position serves Newfoundland and Labrador's 811 HealthLine and Mental Health Crisis Line. You will assess varied calls, follow Schmitt-Thompson protocols, provide nursing advice, and document clear clinical data. Mental health, addictions, and crisis intervention are central to the service.
Key Responsibilities:

Triage callers by telephone and provide medical advice
Deliver mental health and crisis intervention support
Combine protocols with clinical judgment for dispositions
Document confidential medical records to company standards
Communicate concise direction during patient encounters
Requirements:

Recognized School of Nursing graduation
Two years of recent triage or clinical experience
Mental health, addictions, or crisis care experience valued
CRNNL licensure or willingness to obtain licensure
Private workspace, computer, headset, and high-speed internet
Bring attentive listening, independent decision-making, and nursing expertise to Fonemed's telephone triage service for patients.
