This Deputy Charge Nurse role provides clinical leadership within the ward or department. You will deputise for the Ward or Department Manager when required, coordinate shifts, and support effective patient care pathways. The work includes safeguarding, education, audits, and partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate shifts and facilitate effective patient care pathways
Deputise for the Ward or Department Manager when required
Support timely multidisciplinary referrals and discharge planning
Mentor learners and participate in staff training programmes
Advocate for patients and sustain quality care
Requirements:
Maintain clinical credibility as a professional role model
Follow Trust policies and safe clinical practice
Awareness of safeguarding and vulnerable patient protection
Report adverse events and near misses appropriately
Participate in audits and patient safety initiatives
Apply clinical leadership, shift coordination, safeguarding, and patient advocacy skills as Deputy Charge Nurse in Peterborough.
